Process

The team at SCM Philanthropy undertake an in-depth due diligence process to ensure grants generate measurable results. Before investing in a project or charity we review applicants' strategies, evaluate key stakeholders, scrutinise financial statements, and conduct several meetings / site visits. But this is just the beginning.

To spend money wisely we have to have accountability so we can measure effectiveness. Mutually agreed benchmarks are set in place and we measure achievements against these. We seek to continually assess and justify our investment and protect the generosity of our donors and philanthropists. We expect all grantees to be completely accountable for their performance: requiring grantees to submit regular updates and reviews of supported projects. Updates are available on this website and grantees are also occasionally expected to attend regular Donor Update Events.

We view gifting as requiring commitment and involvement from both grantee and granter.
