The Team

Gina Miller Founder & Chairman
- Having grown up in Guyana, South America, Gina has seen the negative environmental impact of modern living as well as the heart breaking effects of extreme poverty in third world rural communities. The drying up of tributaries, mass felling of rainforest, flooding of huge areas for hydro-electric projects and compulsory migration of indigenous people.
- In the UK, Gina has undertaken many voluntary projects since university.
- Along with her husband Alan, she founded a 'home from home' children's nursery in 2007 catering for children from 3 months – 14 years.
- The couple have also been major contributors to the Lady Thatcher infirmary at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and many other charities and projects in the UK.
- Gina's stance is simple – her family is hugely blessed due to her and Alan's business success and her fortunate upbringing. This means they can enjoy the amazing heart-warming feeling of helping others and knowing that her work will be carried on by her children.

Alan Miller Trustee
- Alan is a trustee but not involved in the day-to-day running of the foundation.
- His experience assessing company accounts and financial statements will hugely assist in assessing financial statements and accounts from grant applicants.
- Alan is a non-executive director of two university spin outs that are seeking to develop drugs and techniques that will help mankind. Pharminox Ltd - an emerging UK company focused on the discovery and development of novel small molecule drugs for the treatment of cancer; and Tissue Regenix Ltd – dedicated to the development of clinical solutions to address the chronic shortfalls in donor tissue availability in areas such as Vascular and Orthopaedic medicine.
- His family have long been involved in charity work and his aunt Esther Ranzen has been a shining example.
- He has completed the New York marathon three times and the London marathon twice – all for charitable causes.

Lady Emily Compton Fundraiser
- As the former Social Editor of Tatler Magazine, ambassador for Ferrari and Versace and a highly successful fashion model, Emily is well connected with those who can "make things happen". This coupled with her family background and status means Emily has an enviable and unique black book.
- As well as fundraising, Emily will also be involved in site visits to grantees and follow-up events for grantees and large donors.

Rebecca Cheetham Trustee
- Rebecca will be a trustee and day to day contact for the administration of the foundation.
- During her university gap year, Rebecca was a volunteer with the travel company VentureCo travelling to South America and spent time in a rural village constructing a church and irrigation system alongside local people.
- Whilst at University Rebecca undertook a work placement at the Lord's Taverners Charity. The charity helps young people, particularly those with social, environmental, physical or learning disadvantages, to enjoy cricket and other sporting and leisure activities. She is also a volunteer at the Riding for the Disabled (RDA).
- Rebecca has a Masters in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh, and a journalism diploma from the London School of Journalism.

Michael Triff Trustee, Environmental
- Michael is a Director at the Earthwatch Institute in Oxford with twenty years experience working in the environmental sector both in the UK and USA.
- He is the Director of Development responsible for generating £500,000 in new income each year for the Institute.
- Previous to that, Michael worked for The Environmental Careers Organisation in Boston, USA which is a national charity that manages paid work-learning environmental internship programmes.
- At SCM Philanthropy, Michael will undertake 'due diligence' work and research for all environmental grant applications.
- He will also be involved in the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of donations to those charities or projects that are successful in receiving grants from SCM Philanthropy.

Alexandra Vohryzek-Samuel Grants Administrator
- Since leaving Loughborough University in 2001 with a 2:1 in Maths and Sports Science, Alexandra embarked on a Graduate Traineeship at Ernest & Young but her vocational calling lay in working with children and charitable causes.
- She has been working with children since 2003 and became a registered Homeopath in 2008.
